The relationship between Lina and Naga is rather ambiguous.

Naga claims to be the most bitter rival of Lina, while the red-haired sorceress never considered that.

There is definitely something they have in common, such as the love of money, food and adventure. Often they find themselves fighting for the same cause, but more often tthey fight each other for reasons of incompatibility of character.

Lina often tries to get rid of his traveling companion, who on the other hand returns again and again on the way to red-headed sorceress.

There is no information on why they have separated. No official source nor rumors speak of this fact, everything is left to the imagination of the fans.

Personally, though this pair is seen as one of the most improbable in the universe of Slayers, I find that they are well matched.

On one hand we have a sorceress who uses mostly fire magic, on other one using the magic of water. (about it, I strongly suggest watching the AMV "Fire and Water" findable on Youtube). But of course that's not enough to make them a pair.

Certainly together they form an unstable pair, which it's seen as a simple friendship or something more. Naga literally irritates Lina with her laughter and by pointing out that her breast is flat. On the other hand, Lina often requires the support of his partner to put an end to duels, without forgetting that most times Lina hides herself behind Naga's own body ...



And it's quite difficult to analyze their circumstances, especially if we talk in terms of love.

Is it one of the reasons that made ​​them separate?

I like to imagine them as a loving couple, a real couple who quarrel all the time but that makes peace at a later time, distributing the spoil or enjoying a nice hot meal.
